    At least the lead author isn't bothering to hide their bias.  They start right off with, “While the safest level of use for cannabis is of course ‘no use'. . . "  Of course?  Really?  Any receipts for this preachy premise of yours?  Show me the study demonstrating this definitive conclusion please.

    On to the study itself.  This type of association study completely ignores the most obvious reason for the association.  It is not that weed causes physical addiction like alcohol or meth.  This has been demonstrated in numerous studies.  And it is not that weed causes psychosis or depression.  They have it the wrong way around.

    People with these kinds of conditions use weed because it helps. Weed is demonstrably, and by orders of magnitude, less harmful both to the short term health of the patient and to the long term outcomes from their afflictions than any of the MAOI, NDRI, SSRI, SNRI, SARI, TCA, TeCA medications which the establishment health apparatus gleefully shove into patients.

    Also, weed is not the same thing as THC and/or CBD concentrates or weed-like GMOs.  The GMO nature of weed designed to maximize trichome production is admittedly suspect.  In the case of GMO weed, the strain varieties are likely to possess tremendously different chemical dispositions from each other, and compared to organically bred strains.  Beyond these differences, a vast number of compounds are created when cannabis burns.  The variety and amounts of the various chemicals released in the smoke  are as unique as snowflakes.  The effect can vary widely depending on the strain, growing method, and drying/preservation process.  Also upon the tolerance of the user, their unique body chemistry and the nature of their particular ailment.   #NotAllWeed

    A likely motive for this deception? The usual: Money money money money . . . mohney.  Pharmaceutical companies don't get kickbacks from OTC weed purchases.  But they sure do with the candy store of high cost designer anxiety drugs they're pushing.  They fear monger to keep patients from harnessing the established benefits of cannabis - which some find effective in alleviating symptoms of their condition.

    So why are higher THC concentrations associated with use by the more depressed and the more psychotic among us?  Because the worse the problem is for someone, the higher will be the dosage they will try using to self-remedy until the side effects become too detrimental.  It is no different than kicking back a few beers after a long week's work compared to downing half a bottle of whiskey after one loses one's job.  The deception uses the instincts and experience of those seeking to self medicate to tarnish a remedy that may for some be a relatively cheap and effective alternative to the less frowned upon booze or designer drug options.
